Journaling is a great way to connect with yourself, practice mindfulness, and do self-check-ins.

Becoming your best self looks different for everyone. Sometimes it is tied to working hard, being your best, and doing everything every single day.

Don’t get me wrong, that is an incredibly important piece of this puzzle.

But when we’re “becoming our best self” we must include self-care, self-love, gentleness, taking breaks, and having fun too.

Your worth does not solely come from how “productive” you are, accolades, or accomplishments.

Although those are amazing and important, it’s not the only reason to become your best self.

Productivity, accolades, and accomplishments require a broader description to capture acts of self-love and self-care. It should include all the little accomplishments we make through the day, week, month, or year when we choose ourselves too.

When you made sure to eat while being your badass self. Taking a break, a deep breath, or meditating in the middle of a chaotic day. Getting through a hard mental health day. And everything else in between.

I know you will crush your goals and become someone you know you’re capable of. And you can do that without completely sacrificing your health and well-being. There should be a balance between the two.

A productive day can look like taking a mental health day, self-soothing, and your goal for the day is to be gentle and patient with yourself.

That is just as important as finishing a project for work, doing a deep clean of your home, etc.

Both forms of productivity are equally essential to being your best self.

That’s why I created these daily reflection journal prompts. Keep growing and working on your goals, while also being mindful to take care of yourself and love yourself.

Also, as someone with anxiety and depression, it’s easy to get lost in the millions of thoughts of everything I want to do, work on, improve on, and so on. It’s easy to become overwhelmed and eventually debilitated by everything. Can anyone else relate to this?

Sometimes we need some reminders and reflections to keep us focused on what’s important.

Daily reflection journal prompts help us to focus on the here and now. Only what we need to focus on today.

Yes, all of the other big stuff is important too and should not be ignored. However, narrowing goals down into small daily tasks helps to stay more focused and grounded. Plus, small steps towards a goal each day quickly adds up to a huge positive impact on our goals and our lives!
