About

Hi! I’m Ashley! Here’s a little info about me.

Currently, I live in Texas with my amazing boyfriend of 4 years, and our adorable Australian Shepherd, Garland.

Watching television and movies is my number one pastime. My favorite show of all time is Buffy the Vampire Slayer, though there are many others I love to watch. Reading is another love of mine. I’ve been into cheesy girly romance novels lately, they’re such a fun escape. Music and singing are practically my therapy. Lastly, my love for cooking has grown exponentially over the last few years, though I’m nowhere near chef status.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Minor in Cognitive Science. For the last few years, I worked in the Early Childhood Mental Health field in Utah.

I created this blog because I needed a change. Working in that field will always have a place in my heart. I grew so much personally and professionally, but like many others, I got burnt out and was holding years’ worth of secondary trauma.

The pandemic exacerbated my mental illness in ways I could never imagine, and I’ve been doing my best to pull myself out of that ever since. I have anxiety and depression, and I’ve been on a journey to love myself again in the throws of mental illness and the struggles of everyday life.

This blog is my way of helping anyone who is going through similar struggles as I am. To remind me that I am worthy of taking up space and that I am enough. And to be here with you during your journey to cultivating self-love however that may look for you.

If I can help a single person by sharing my tips, ideas, recipes, and personal anecdotes then I will consider myself successful.

Thank you for joining me on this journey, and please know that you are not alone.
